I'm off on an adventure!

Monday morning I'll be leaving you! Well, only for two weeks, and then I'll be back. :) I'm taking a 24 hour train trip from Chicago to Grand Junction, Colorado. From there I'll be heading to Utah, Nevada and Arizona! I'm so excited to see Arches National Park in Utah, and The Grand Canyon/Sedona in Arizona. I also get to see the Beatles LOVE Cirque du Soleil show at The Mirage in Las Vegas!

For now, the shop is in vacation mode. My poor little shop has never been in vacation mode! lol

I will return on August 6th and hope to have lots of photos. I *hope* to pick up a few treasures along the way, too. Stick around!

A little bit more...

I went back to the antique sale today (see post below) to see if I'd missed anything. This sale happens to be taking place in a building connected to the building where I work. Today I found these ADORABLE glasses (the zoom looks much better):

The pictures don't do them justice, and they are in perfect condition- five glasses total.

When I went to pay, they wouldn't take the money. Since I work in the building connected to theirs, and they are trying to clean out the space, I got these for free "neighbor" price! I really did think I'd have to pay for these since they let me go with such great things yesterday. Score!

JACKPOT!

This is an awesome vintage score! Today I went to an antique sale...the kind where they were just dying to get rid of everything to clear out a building. I got this huge pile of vintage fabric and feedsacks. These are big yardages...this pile is heavy! As always, click photos for a better view.

I think my favorite is the one on top. Those are actually curtains so I might try to wash them and use them somewhere in my house. There were a few panels.

Oh, but that's not all!! Every photo from this point shows the things they gave me for FREE!

Lovely retro pitcher and cup set in perfect condition. I've actually almost bought this one online in the past, but I'm glad I didn't!:

Sweet mustard mug and more adorable fabric:

..and a whole set of unused drinking glasses in their own carrier!:

Love that aqua.
The glasses still have their original stickers on them. This was a good day for treasures!

necklaces and a thank you.

Thank you so much for the wonderfully kind response to my new necklaces! (and if you are a regular follower of my blog, you know that they are all hanging on a hammer in the above photo. You can even see the end of it! lol) Here's the newest addition to the shop:

I just love that sweet liberty of london print.

I also want to say thank you to a friend who knew I was having it rough a while back and sent me this surprise- the lovely pink stone in this photo!:
I've never had a pink one and it is just perfect! Thank you, friend. It meant the world to me. :)

Two shops I just now found (and love!)

Ok. The first shop is allicoate. I have no idea how I've not seen this shop before. How cute is this pillow cover?!

I already spy a ton of things I want. :) I think that pillow cover above would be first, though.

There are a lot of perfectly pretty things, so go take a look! I bet I'm the last person who knows about this shop. lol

Next up is nestcreatives. I love these little letter brooches!

That "G" is already sold, but isn't it adorable?!

I would love some of these as fridge magnets. I hope she starts offering some! So cute. :)

Did you stumble across any new (or new-to-you) shops today?

Love love love!

Oh, how I want this wall... I actually DO have a space in my house where I could do this, but I'm not so sure where I'd be able to find lone drawers shallow enough for my needs. I'm on the hunt now, though, I'll tell you that! From here.

Back from the flea market...

I only got a couple of things today on my treasure-hunting excursion. I just had to get this vintage bread box because I really loved the color and the cool curved shape. It's hard to tell in the pics but it has a linen print on it.

Then I stopped at a booth where this woman was selling her handmade crocheted items. I told her she needed to get an Etsy shop, because I really loved her headbands! I bought this sweet one:
I have to include this one because Kitterson was being so sweet:

It looks great with hair down, too:

I love how simple it is and that it is made with cotton thread. I hope you found some good things this weekend, too!

I love her freckles.

taken last night as the sun was going down.

Speaking of Julia, last night she was coloring and I didn't know what she was making. I looked over and saw this:

Sweet! She even made me a ponder paper airplane!

Yay for sweet daughters. Happy Saturday, everyone!

(I'm on my way to an antique flea market- I hope I get some treasures to show you!)

When you see a photo like this in my shop....

(click each photo for a crisper look)... what I'm really seeing is this:

If you were to step back a little bit more, you'd see this:

Yes, a hammer. A hammer on a stack of books. And a little more:

So, you see, all you need for a decent product photo is a window in front of a light-colored flat surface. **hammer and stack of books optional**

;)

P.S. I'd love to see photos like this of your photo-taking space!

Come ponder with me. :)

Hey, everyone! I just thought I'd mention that there's a new Ponder and Stitch inteview up today at Peach Parlor. I'd love it if you stopped by and said hello! Make sure you follow her blog- it's adorable (Mug Mondays are my favorite)!

I heart Daniela Andrade.

Who is Daniela Andrade? She is an amaaaazing *very* young singer I found on youtube a couple of years ago. I've been listening to her songs while cutting fabric/sewing/cleaning the house for at least two years now! You guys really have to hear her sing- she does amazing covers and has great original music, too.

Current favorite covers (I go back and forth daily): this and this and this. That last one is an amazing duet with Andrew Kim and it's better than the original!

Current favorite original: this one.

Seriously, I know it takes time to listen to things like this-- but go do it! At least just listen to the first minute of all of them. :) It's so great to see a young girl really going toward her dream like this!

Five ugly things I DIDN'T buy today, plus nature walk pics.

Let's go with the nature walk pics first, shall we? As always, click to zoom for crisper views.

I called this one the molecule plant:

While I was trying to get pics of the dragonfly above, my boyfriend was secretly taking photos of me. I love all the green in these! The wind was bubbling up my dress in this one:

I think the old flip flops ruin this one.. hahah:

And now for the uglies! I'm always showing you the cutest thrift store scores and awesome vintage things I find at all my favorite antique places. Believe me, I find way more ugly stuff you don't see. Today I brought along my camera and picked five ugly things I didn't buy. Enjoy!

This vase was actually really expensive and was maybe two feet tall:

This doll doesn't look so bad here. She actually looks kinda retro cool. I assure you, she was VERY hideous!

You can't imagine how awful this lamp was. In the picture, it actually doesn't look that bad!**Edit: I knew a few of you would like this one and I was right! haha:

Ummm. Nope!:

And finally:

There you have it. Five ugly things I did NOT buy- because I do occasionally pass on things, though it's hard to believe. lol :)
