Quite the apartment building...

This apartment building can be found in Darmstadt, Germany. It also houses a parking garage, cafe and bar. I love all the greenery on the roof!

As a lifetime vertigo-sufferer, I know that this building would probably make me dizzy in real life. At least I can look from afar!

More here.

Simple and pretty.

I love the faceted cube shape, and the color of the citrine against the blue thread is lovely. She has great photos, too. From here.

It's a lovely day!

My someone has made me feel quite loved today. :) Thank you, someone. xoxo

On another note, I've been a fan of rosiemusic for quite a while and thought I would post this print today (in the spirit of love on a day such as this). It's a pretty good depiction of us - sewing machine and a cat in my lap, keyboard in his.
Happy Valentine's Day, dear readers!

The mailman was good to me today.

Last week I bought this antique drawing book dating back to 1887. I was so excited to see it in my mailbox today! It's just a sweet little collection of original sketches. Some of the tissue paper is still present:

There are various drawings of cottages, animals and flowers.

This is my favorite drawing in the whole book:

I hope the mailman was good to you today, too!

You know what I miss?

Having a fireplace. I really, really miss my fireplace. I'm cold- really, really cold.

Photo from here. Also, I really love this one.

A container for one thing.

I love the name of this hanging vessel by perch!. A container for one thing. Isn't that sweet? It's tiny (which I love) at 3" in diameter, and comes on a 20" leather cord. I think a number of these hanging in front of a window would look really sweet- maybe holding some teeny air plants! Adorable.

**Don't forget- tomorrow morning I'm drawing the winner of a $25.00 gift certificate to Timeless Treasures! You still have time to win, so enter here if you haven't already. Good luck!

Postcard love.

I love this antique postcard I got the other day. It was mailed May 14, 1907. The caption on the front says view of old furnace. I guess I really know nothing about furnaces because that awesome building in the back just looks like some part of an ancient castle to me, which I love.

I love the pose of the girl in the center. She looks like she's having fun!

"yours received will reply later. I'm in (Orin?) painting Mr. Bean's house. will be here over next Sunday. just imagine a good time for me. tell L I don't quite understand. I think she's a little off. as ever your friend----."

I want to know why "L" is a little off!

Would you look at that?!

I am quite in love with my new garland from the talented Emma Lamb. You can't tell from the photos, but these flowers and leaves are soooo dainty- just like I wanted!

I chose the colors and Emma skillfully made the sweetest garland to ever grace a kitchen window.

For those of you who remember, my kitchen is STILL under construction and not yet painted. I had a lot of trouble choosing a wall color, and I think I've decided on a shade of golden mustard. It's going to look gorgeous with the garland! I've only owned this gorgeous piece for a couple of days and I already want another. Beautiful work! Do visit Emma's shop and blog for more loveliness. Thank you, Emma!

Winter be gone! (Please?)

It snowed over 2 feet last night and left snowdrifts taller than me. The photo above is the view from my back step. I had to dig out a path to get to my detached garage. Here's a view of the path from the other direction:

This is before I started shoveling:

This is the current state of my driveway:

That snow goes about up to my neck at the highest point. I have absolutely no idea how I'm getting to work tomorrow. Winter be gone!

P.S. Make sure to enter the giveaway below if you haven't done so! :)
