I'd like to introduce you...

to our new sweet mini-lop bunny! Julia has named her Phyllis (after Phyllis on the show The Office). We've been calling her Philly. :)

I never mentioned it on the blog because it was too sad, but Stanley died quite a long time ago now. :( His buddy Oliver died a few days ago. Julia was distraught. We decided to get an animal that would live a bit longer. Phyllis is so cute and doesn't run when you go to pick her up. She is a gentle little thing and Julia is already in love, of course.

I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I did. ;)

Love these.

Elizabeth Scott of ES Designs makes the loveliest botanical jewelry. I have adored this shop for years, and thought I'd show some of my favorites. I think the ginkgo leaf ring is the piece I'm coveting the most right now:

The birch bark rings are a close second. The ones shown below actually make up a wedding band set, but I'm wanting the thinner one just for a right-hand ring:

I tend to wear a lot of hoop earrings, and I love this twig design:

The ring below is a white pine branch:

Go see more (and make me jealous by getting one of your own) here.

Saturday thrift store score!

Ok, it wasn't the thrift store. It was the antique store, but it was only $5.00 which was a pretty thrifty price for a pretty vintage platter in perfect condition!

It's a nice size, too, and I love the bright aqua flowers!

Love it!

Dozing off...

I just snapped this photo of Finn falling asleep on the couch. I can't help it. I just love him.

I also just added two new cuffs to the shop. They're ready to ship:

Happy Saturday!

I would SO love to take a road trip in this camper!! How adorable is this? Based in the UK, Snail Trail rents the most adorable campers- and the best part is that each one is all decked out in retro furnishings. Too bad I'm not in the UK.

This is such a great idea. Visit the site here.

Best. Hotel. Ever.

I want to go here! I'd have to go all the way to Sweden, but this is a treehouse hotel! There are various treehouses/guest cabins, each with its own theme, nestled in the trees.

Wouldn't this be amazing?! More photos here. Treehotel website here.

Tiny Paris treasure.

Yesterday on my lunch break I went here as I often do. The owner of the shop had gone to Paris and brought home this little wooden box. It is very tiny, which I love. I have always had a thing for tiny wooden boxes, and this one was brought all the way home from Paris.

Of course I had to buy it! It's perfect for my little French rock and sugar packet filled with blades of grass from this post.

If any of you have similar tiny wooden boxes, I'd love to see them!

I like these.

I could totally use a few of these wall tiles. Although, I don't condone using the hooks for scissors. Danger!

You can get them as lidded jar tiles or cups with hooks, but it looks like the ones with the hooks are sold out right now.

Find them here.

How cool are these Icelandic turf houses? I think it would be so great to have a home built right into the landscape like this. Gorgeous! See more here.

I have to run out of thrifty luck soon, right?? SCORE!

I just found what will be my winter coat at the thrift store! It's hard to tell but it's a pink/brown mix (and the lining is pink). I cropped out my head because I look like a hobo today. I loooove this coat! Yes, that's my rake on the ground behind me. I gave up.

Look at the adorable cuffs!

Then I got a great roll of fabric:

and this teapot/carafe in a great mustard color (see the green rock in the background? My friend Tara made it and I lurve it :

And OMG I found a Cathrineholm bowl at the thrift store today!!!!:

Probably my best find ever! It was $2.00. YES!!

P.S. Julia went to a birthday party at a roller rink today and came home with a mustache:

Have a great weekend, everyone!!

Another lunch break thrift store score.

Today on my lunch break I went to a different local thrift store I don't usually visit because I never find anything good there. I lucked out today, though, and got this vintage oval mirror. It's a nice size at three feet tall. I'm going to paint the frame and put it in my bedroom, I think. Of course, I still have hideous wallpaper in my bedroom and have to deal with that first. One of these days...

Another one out the door.

Another custom cuff leaves my hands this morning. I have a whole bunch of Christmas orders in line. If you're wanting to order a gift for Christmas, let me know (I'm almost completely booked!).

Happy Friday!

Why can't France be closer?

A few years ago, my cousin Greg went to France. I was soooo envious. I asked him if he could send me some tiny bit of earth from there, and I didn't care what it was. A rock, some dirt, anything! Here is what I received (click to zoom):

A simple envelope with a message written on the inside, along with a rock and some blades of grass in a sugar packet:

I was overjoyed!! It's the little things, you know. I'm so happy the envelope even made it to me, as it was addressed incorrectly. Plus, a bulky rock in a regular envelope could've been easily caught in a sorting machine.

I love the little drawing on the outside of the envelope.

I will cherish these little bits of France forever, and hope that one day I may get there myself.

Today's vintage lunch break find!

I just found these at a little vintage shop about ten minutes ago! I absolutely love them and got enough letters to spell Amy, Julia and ponder. :D

Back to work I go!

All-time favorite.

My dad used to play this on the guitar when I was little. It is one of my very favorite memories and favorite songs. James looks so handsome here, too!

Sunday antique/vintage flea market finds!

I found some AWESOME things at the once-a-month antique and vintage flea market today! I got this little cabinet, which I think might end up being my nightstand:

The cats were checking it out and would NOT move out of the shot. The top lifts up and the front is actually a cabinet door that opens out. There are no drawers. There seems to be wallpaper of some kind adhered to the top. It's very sunny!

I absolutely could not pass up this old feedsack- look at all the owls!!! The floral fabric is gorgeous, too. It's actually an old apron:

I was SO happy to find these printer blocks! They had the right letters to spell the word ponder. These were a dollar for all of them. I think I'll use them to stamp the outside of my outgoing packages.

I also decided to get this cushion, even though I have no piece of furniture to use with it. Maybe it will be a cat bed! The fabric looks vintage, but I have a feeling it's actually new.

Oh, and I dare anyone to tell me these are not the cutest vintage buttons you've ever seen! And the best color, too..

I guess it was a good weekend for finding treasures! :D

Saturday antique store score!

Today after trip to the post office, I stopped at one of my favorite local antique shops. I got this adorable old dustpan- rusty, yes- but so cute I couldn't resist.

I was really excited to find this 1946 edition of Henry Thoreau's Walden, especially since I actually went to Borders recently with the specific purpose of buying this book! I didn't end up getting it, so I'm glad that now I get to read a pretty vintage copy instead.

Click the pic to zoom in and read the inscription inside:

I always need trivets so I was happy to find this one:

Lastly, I got some vintage and antique buttons that will be finding their way onto some cuffs.

All this for around $10.00. Score!

I love my guard cat.

A glimpse of a couple more custom cuffs that went out today:

Have a great weekend, everyone! :)
