Memories

If you were asked to think back as far as you could and describe your earliest memory, what would it be? Mine was seeing a brown rabbit in the yard and trying to feed it a carrot with the help of my mom. She says I was probably two years old at the time. I remember being so excited to see that brown bunny up close!

I'd love to hear your earliest memories...tell me a story!

  1. (I love the print you found, Amy!)

My earliest memory is being dressed as a clown and riding with one of my cousins and a friend in some type of parade. The funny thing is I asked my Mom about it a few years ago and she said she didn't have any recollection of that! We eventually found a picture in the photo album, and I'm probably about three years old, but Mom still doesn't remember the parade or what is was for!!

  9. Hum... I'm really good at blocking things from my mind therefore the only "earliest" memory I can think of is when I did something stupid as a child and that was the first (and only) time my grandma got upset with me. I must have been four. Then the next memories are already from when I was around 5 in kindergarten.

  10. Mine is of camping in our little pop up trailer in a park on Vancouver Island. I used to sleep in the luggage area above the convertable bed/dining table, and my sister and brother slept on the convertible sofa/twin bed. hehe I loved that thing, but since I was so close to the ceiling I always bumped my head in the mornings. lol

  11. I remember sleeping in my crib and asking my mom for a bottle of milk and cranberry juice. Weird... I know. My mom gave it to me and I would ask for other random concoctions like milk and grape juice (I called this a purple cow), etc. My mom said I was about 2 when I did this.

  13. My earliest memory is of my grandpa's farm. Unfortunately, it was after he passed away, and we were there, cleaning the place out. But it was a lovely place and my mom had grown up there, so it's part of our family roots, no matter what. ♥

  14. I have a horrible memory therefor my earliest memory is when I was about four or five and my parents brought home a new (to us) chevy impala station wagon which was dubbed "tuna boat". Now that I think about it, I have no idea why my parents called it that. I need to ask!

  16. cerealjoe - that's so funny! I have a very early memory of my grandma getting mad at me for cutting the pigtails off of a doll - and it might be the only time she was ever mad!

I think one of my earliest memories is singing with my mom in the upstairs bathroom at our old house. She was teaching me "Bah Bah Blacksheep"

  17. We were on holiday somewhere by the sea and I was looking at all the starfish and weed in a little rock pool, and I told my mother to come and look at the 'swimming pool' and my whole family guffawed with laughter at me. Totally not that funny. Ha.

  18. Our dog, Missy, was sniffing at my birthday cake. It was sitting in the center of our coffee table so that I could reach it to blow out the candle- which also made it the perfect height for the dog to get a nibble. So I hit my knees in a crawling position and started to headbutt Missy in an attempt to get her away from my precious cake. My parents say it was my third birthday.

Of course my first memory involved both a dog and a cake.

  19. oh what a lovely print and a cute memory!

my earliest memory was waking up in the middle of the night in my crib and squeezing through the bars (crib safety standards were a bit looser then heh) to go use my big girl potty. (i think i slept in a crib a bit later than most)

  20. What a sweet post :)

I can't think back as early as 2. I do remember helping my mom paint my bedroom yellow when I was about 4. It was a sunny day and we had the window propped open all the way. I wish I had more memories of my mom.
