Lookshelves

I came across this site today while blog-hopping. Lookshelves is described as a site for literary voyeurs. I think this site is great- you are asked to submit a photo of your bookshelf (without tidying it or altering it in any way!). Along with submitting a photo, you are to provide the answer to five short questions (listed on the site) to give the reader an idea of who you are. Some might find this dull, but I think it's really neat to look into a person's life in this way. You can learn a lot about a person by his or her bookshelf!

  1. Oooo all my books are on the ground or at my parents right now but I really love this.

  2. Now I really want to color coordinate my books. Our books are very strange lol

  3. Love it! Though I must confess that I'm always irritated by people who colour coordinate their books. As a booklover it makes no sense to me ... I don't remember a book by the colour of it's cover! To me it is the sign of a bookshelf that is very little purused ... but maybe I'm wrong.

  4. Louise- I've never organized books by color, either. I do think it looks pretty but it would be near impossible to do and to keep that way..

  7. I have four book shelves in the house right now (not all of them are just holding books...there are MANY things on them.) I love the idea of the arrangement by color, but it is not very practical for me. Mine are more in line of size and content. A future goal: a library in my house!

  8. My books are in bins as to we moved over a year ago then I got sick and haven't found a house to buy yet so we are renting at the moment. I use to have my books on the shelf according to size.

  9. My bookshelf (or rather, bookshelves) are absolute messes. I keep going out and buying more and more.... and there are still piles and piles of books in my bedroom.

    I think that I may have a problem.... :)

  10. My house has several built-in bookshelves, and I also have several free-standing ones. Each one has a different content area. Even with all this space for books, it is still never enough, so when I get something new, I often have to choose something I don't use anymore and bring it to my friend's used bookstore.

  12. Hey! I just came across this. Thanks so much for writing about Lookshelves. Bookshelves are the absolute first thing I look at in someone's apartment, so I totally agree that they're a unique window into someone's life.

Hope we get to see your shelves soon!

  13. Hahaha! That's great! My bookshelves are loosely colour co-ordinated, but also arranged in clusters by the same author.

    Thanks for sharing!
