There are times...

...when I don't have a vintage find or a tiny treasure to share with all of you. That seems to be the case today - I think it would be a lovely moment to sit down and hear a story, don't you? For those of you who don't know, I have a sweet little sister named Sage. Sage is five years old and has the same passion for books that I've always had. She can't read yet, but she can memorize long stories like you wouldn't believe. She's about to tell me a story, completely from memory - The Tale of Mrs. Tittlemouse by Beatrix Potter. Won't you join me on the rug?

P.S. I know it's long- but my favorite part is around 3:28 when she says "this is an intrusion!" lol

  8. Oh my! She's so clever!! I can't believe it's all by heart!! I can't say I understood all of her words, but all in all, I got the gist of the story and her voice is the cutest!

  9. She's really pretty amazing with this one. It's quite long! If any of you have a copy of this story and can follow along with it, you'll see that she's almost 100% spot on with only a few deviations from the text and one missed verse.

  11. Unbelievable!!! Sage is amazing. I taught preschool for 6 years and in that time I never met child who could retell a story like that. Nearly verbatim yeah? Oh my. She is just wonderful and I love how she acts some of the parts out. Far too charming for words. Thanks for sharing!!!

  14. Oh my goodness, this is adorable. What a smart little girl Sage is! I loved Beatrix Potter (and still do) when I was her age, too, but indeed I am quite sure I could never recite her stories like that! :)

  17. Amy, next time you don't have a vintage find or tiny treasure to share, you should post Sage's telling of Once Upon A Twice. Sage won a Border's Gift card from the author for it and it's really cute.
