I realized last night that yesterday was my two-month blog anniversary! I just want to thank all 281 (now 312!) of you who have so graciously decided to follow me! In honor of this, I've decided to have my second giveaway! The winner will receive a double-stranded cuff identical to the one above (which is actually the newest addition to the shop). If the winner doesn't like gray, I'll whip up a bracelet in a different fabric! Yippeee! To enter, all you need to do is leave a comment on this post with an interesting word or sentiment you would like to see embroidered on a cuff (the cuff the winner receives will not be embroidered, but I'm looking for some inspiration for future items!). I'll randomly choose the winner on September 16th, which just happens to be my 31st birthday (eeeek!). If you'd like two entries, just mention this giveaway on your blog or tweet about it and let me know you did so! Good luck to all!
Happy 2 months to you! Holy cow that's a lot of followers in a very short time :)
ReplyDeleteI can't stop thinking about my old high school aptitude test. I've been brainstorming how I'd like to preserve those curious words I found in the summary section. Now I'm thinking think they would look really cool on one of your cuffs! So here's my pick:
CAUTION: There is some indication that your interest patterns are unusual.
I tweeted this post here: http://twitter.com/theLostEarring
Thanks!!!
Wauw..that is nice...a Amy give-away ;) Hooray :)
ReplyDeletehere are my words :
May your search through nature lead to yourself
xx Dani
Love this idea! Love your blog and your cuffs too!
ReplyDeleteWhat about... "Elegance is refusal"?
The Lost Earring- omg I remember when you posted about that aptitude test and I was cracking up- that is SO awesome! I think it's what got me hooked on your blog...
ReplyDeleteKeep 'em coming, everyone!
Congrats on being so successful in such a short period of time! That's quite an accomplishment. I wish you'd share your secrets.
ReplyDeleteYou know I love your cuffs, and this gray one is particularly cute, I can't resist entering.
What about some french words? It seems like a language that would go well with your designs.
You could use - mon chéri - Which means "my darling", and market it as a gift bracelet for all the fellas that needs gifts for their girls.
Or you could use - Chéri - which means "darling" and - La vie- which means "life".
-Lily
I'm a geek, so I'll go with "Woot!"
ReplyDelete;)
Peace & Love,
Beth

I have a tendency to wear a lot of black and so therefore I LOVE the gray cuff! I am a big fan of old movies and love the title and the movie "Beau Geste" with Gary Cooper (long sigh).
ReplyDeleteSo, I would like to see 'un beau geste' [translated to 'a beautiful gesture' or 'an act of kindness'] embroidered on one of your cuffs. It speaks to the lovely cuff itself but could also serve as a reminder to the wearer that performing a kind deed reaps big rewards for everyone involved!
Happy 2nd Monthiversary!!
So cool! I would of course love to win a Ponder & Stitch original :)
ReplyDeleteI think I would have to go with "it was many and many a year ago.." which is from my all-time favorite poem (Annabel Lee!) and is the inspiration for my shop/blog name, hehe. I just freaking love that poem :)
I love your blog. I love that simple gray cuff too! Congrats on your success on etsy, keep up the great work! <3
ReplyDeleteTom Waits lyrics:
She drove a big ol' Lincoln with suicide doors
And a sewing machine in the back
And a light bulb that looked like an alligator egg
Was mounted up front on the hood
And she had an Easter bonnet that had been signed by Tennessee Ernie Ford
And she always had saw dust in her hair
And she cut two holes in the back of her dress
and she had these scapular wings
That were covered with feathers and electrical tape
And when she got good and drunk
She would sing about Elkheart, Indiana
Where the wind is strong and folks mind their own business
And she had at least a hundred old baseballs that she'd taken from kids
And she collected bones of all kinds
And she lived in a trailer under a bridge
And she made her own whiskey and gave cigarettes to kids
And she'd been struck by lightning seven or eight times
And she hated the mention of rain
And she made up her own language
And she wore rubber boots
And she could fix anything with string
And her lips were like cherries
And she was stronger than any man
And she smelled like gasoline and Rootbeer Fizz
And she put mud on a bee sting I got at the creek
And she gave me my very first kiss
And she gave me my very first kiss
Talking 'bout my little Kathleen
She's just a fine young thing
Someday she'll wear my ring
My little Kathleen

ReplyDeleteactualy i wouldn't want words i like it just as is :)
Congrats! Wow, that's a lot of followers for two months. Good for you!
ReplyDeleteMy word would be:
*sigh*
Sounds wired, but I really think sighing is a good stress reliever. I even write *sigh* a lot when blogging, twittering, messaging friends, etc. When I'm stressed I need to remind myself to pause and sigh. A cuff like that could really help me out!

Thanks for entering me! This bracelet cuff would go with everything! How about a quote like "BEAUTY IS SOMETHING YOU DO"????
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I'd go with a quotation from the Dhammapada, the sayings of the Buddha: "With our thoughts we make the world."
ReplyDeletefantastic!
ReplyDeleteThere are so many lovely quotes the one that comes to mind at the moment is:
"live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air..." - ralph waldo emerson
Wow- you guys are a very inspirational bunch. I love these and have lots of ideas swirling around in my head!
ReplyDeleteYay congrats for your two months ! That's a lot of followers in a very short time, I'm really glad for you - safe to say there's another 281 people out there that enjoy reading your posts as much as I do !

ReplyDeleteHey Amy
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS on your 2 months, and already so many followers.. wow.. i'm jealous as well! lol. I absolutely adore your cuffs (and everything else you do!).
With everything that has gone on in my life, especially this last year, the one thought that gets me through is;
Everything happens for a reason
Not everyone agrees with this statement, i know, but I whole heartedly believe that even during the worst times in your life, hope and beauty will emerge. So that is my choice! And i'm off to write a blog about your contest!!
Congrats again,
Kat @ SassmowthDesigns
Just finished up the blog Amy!

Yay for giveaways! =D
ReplyDeleteMy favorite season is Fall and since the Autumn season is arriving soon, I think it would be so great to do something with that!
Also, I am always reading something whether it's a book, or a poem, or a play and so I think something simple like..."Live a lovely life, read a book!"
And congratulations on your two month blog anniversary! :)
I posted your giveaway on my blog!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I am not sure if you will find this interesting but since you like reading old post cards I thought you might enjoy it :)

Great cuff and gray is an awesome color! My suggestion would be "Living in the Now" based on the book The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle or any lyric segments of Dave Matthews.

ReplyDelete-"kicking it old school" (i'm sorry, i had to)

ReplyDeleteAwesome giveaway :) I suppose my sentiment would be something like:
ReplyDelete"she's spinnin' round in circles dancing and she don't care"
or something to that effect :)
Congrats!
ReplyDeleteI've actually been thinking a lot about this so I wanna say:
"Love for Love and not to be Loved back"
& even if you use it I'm going to use it too because I wrote it in my journal & i love it. (:
I hope you have a wonderful birthday! I love your shop and especially your cuffs...so unique! Thanks for the chance to win one!
ReplyDeleteHere are a few thoughts I had for your cuffs:
have faith
go ahead...wish (or just simply - wish)
go ahead, step outside the boundaries
follow your heart
dream big
What a neat giveaway! I like the gray. It goes with just about anything!
ReplyDeleteHow about "Veritas Super Omnes". It's latin for "Truth Above All Else". Just a thought!

Kärlek - It´s love on swedish:)
ReplyDeleteI adore that cuff!
Your cuffs are so lovely, the postcard thing is a brilliant idea. My favourite small quote has always been "I am, I am, I am" from Sylvia Plath, as she describes listening to her own heartbeat.
ReplyDeleteI think it is beautiful and insightful.
Wow- I am really loving all these! You guys are totally inspiring me!
ReplyDeleteEnter me twice!
ReplyDeleteHere's the link to my post about you and the contest: http://cherrymommashouse.blogspot.com/2009/09/give-away-ponder-stitch.html
And my phrase is.....a little sunshine just to butter my toast.......from the song El Sol by Zwan.
what a lovely wrap bracelet- like having someones gently embrace you all the while you wear it -To me it symbolizes - "Gentle Embrace" a soothing color you can wear all the time wto match anything and always have the hug, love it.
ReplyDeletethanks...
Karen..
This entry is for my friend B, since my blog won't let her comment! She says:
ReplyDeleteBette Davis:
Attempt the impossible in order to improve your work.
Actually, I like the first three words the best.
This is awesome!! :) I think a nice thing to have on a cuff would be something that could be a handy reminder during stressful times.
ReplyDelete"Be stoic. Don't panic." - Sylvia Plath
Love this bracelet!
ReplyDeleteJust a few thoughts:
'Live Laugh Love' seems to be quite popular
Simply, 'Love'
'Magic'
this is one of my favorite quotes:
'A friend may well be reckoned the masterpiece of nature'
Thanks for a great giveaway, hearting your shop!
just tweeted:
ReplyDeleteoldbagvintage awesome giveaway..go on: http://bit.ly/1u2bbs
"Everybody's fancy. Everybody's fine."
ReplyDeleteHmm...I prefer it plain, but I would just say: 'perspective.' Cause that's what life is all about anyway, right? Plus it's a good reminder.
ReplyDeleteOh, and yay! Congrats on your success!
ReplyDeleteLove all your creations! You're very talented.
ReplyDeleteNancy
Happy early birthday :D
ReplyDeleteYour cuff bracelets are so very beautiful.
~laura

How about "don't sass me"
ReplyDeleteYou know how much I love your blog, and I think you already know I think you are damn talented, and so I love your stuff, and the thought I might be the lucky winner of your giveaway is awesome ;)
ReplyDeleteI follow this blog that's called "I am alive" and considering the recent events in my life (...) I think that if I'd have something embroidered on it that would be just it, to remind myself that no matter what I AM ALIVE
Have a great weekend
xo
Congratulations! You do such beautiful work. I'll be romantic and go with classic song lyrics:
ReplyDelete"a sigh is just a sigh"
calm
ReplyDeleteBB- if you win I won't know who you are or how to reach you! When I click your name it is anonymous with no profile..
ReplyDeleteI know it's cliche, but this is my favorite quote:
ReplyDelete"Be the change you wish to see in the world."-Ghandi
I try and remember that everyday and live by it, it'd be nice to have a little reminder on my wrist!

Never gonna give you up
ReplyDeleteNever gonna let you down
Never gonna run around
And desert you.
Hi! Beautiful bracelet!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite quotes is "If you keep on dancing you'll never grow old"... I'd love to see those words every day!
I hope that'd fit on a cuff :)

ReplyDelete"Läbi raskuste tähtede poole" (in Estonian ;))
I want to see a cuff that says "Don't you wish you were wearing this cuff?" ;)
ReplyDeleteAre you cuff enough?
ReplyDelete**gasp** I almost missed out! I thought I already entered... Hmmmmmm, now to be creative... Everytime I hear the Leeann Womack song "I hope you dance" I get chills, so I'm gonna go with that!
ReplyDeleteOoo....fun!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy turn!
My words are:
"Dance heals the body and the soul"
Holy cow, look at all these comments!!! Where have I BEEN??
ReplyDeleteCongrats Amy on such a fantastic response.
My words for a 4 strand cuff:
Ring the bells that still will ring.
Forget your perfect offering.
There is a crack in everything.
That's how the light gets in.

I love your blog...
ReplyDeletemy words:

just tweeted about this and if I win, my darling daughter will be the proud owner of one of your gorgeous cuffs! Either way, be blessed!!
ReplyDeleteYeah for giveaways!
ReplyDeleteI love this Ghandi quote," Be the change you wish to see in all the world." A bit long for a bracelet. Maybe it could be shortened to "Be the change."
well being on the goth side of life i would put Sinner
ReplyDeleteNot sure if this is cuff worthy but :
ReplyDeleteThink outside the box
Great giveaway!!!!
what about:
ReplyDeletelive, laugh, love
I love that expression :)

Love your work and this giveaway! The gray is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI am still contemplating the quote I would like for a custom cuff, but right now I am liking "It will be okay", because really, everything will be okay.
Happy (early) Birthday!!
