Finally!

I am SO excited to get this book when it is released on September 29th! It's by Audrey Niffenegger, who also wrote one of my all-time favorite books, The Time Traveler's Wife. It was the only book (and still is) that made me cry.

A few years ago I had the pleasure of chatting a bit with Audrey via email, and she told me she was writing Her Fearful Symmetry. At the time she had only written about 75 pages, but she told me what it would be about and I was so excited!! I've been waiting patiently ever since, and the time has almost come. I'm dying with anticipation! It's a ghost story set in and around Highgate Cemetery in London-- that is definitely my cup of tea.

I'm on pins and needles waiting for this! Read more about it here.

P.S. I've not yet seen The Time Traveler's Wife movie, because I'm so afraid it will ruin the book...you know, the movies are never as good as the books!

  1. Haven't read the Time Traveler's Wife, but this book cover intrigues me. I like how it's designed. Sounds interesting too, may have to look into it :)

  2. Oh cool, thanks for the heads up! I too loved "The Time Traveler's Wife". I haven't seen the movie either, I must say the leads they chose are just not who I would have pictured. And the tone I got from the trailers is just...different than I expected. Oh well, maybe it's better than I think.

  3. The Time Traveler's Wife is one of my favorites. Can't wait to get my hands on this new book! I actually saw the movie not too long ago and thought it was really a decent movie. I didn't think I would like it going in, but I did. It has been years since I read the book so that may have something to do with it.

  6. The Time Traveler's Wife is one of my favorites too! Cried buckets at the end. I haven't seen the movie, however (like you said, I'm afraid to—I heard A.N. was horrified by it). Will you write a review once you've read the new one? I'm very curious to hear if it's as good as TTTW!

  15. AMy - there was an interview with Audrey in Trib recently - she had NOTHING to do with the movie and will not see it. Good for her! I don't want to see it either - don't want to be disappointed.
