Something I am coveting and an update on my little friend

I know I said I usually only feature items I've purchased, but that was before I found the above print. shesaphotographer has given me permission to post the photo above, and can I just say how much I want this print?! What little girl wouldn't have loved a jewelry box like that when she was little? I am SO buying this.

In other news, my little rat/squirrel house guest, which my daughter has named Stuart, is thriving! He is getting stronger by the minute and one of his sweet, tiny ears has popped up. He is drinking formula from an eye dropper and going potty after every feeding. We've pretty much fallen in love with the little guy (or girl). A wildlife specialist was supposed to call me back yesterday, but did not. I'm guessing she will call me today, and I will figure out what to do from there. If this turns out to be a rat, we are thinking of keeping it as a pet. We are just so attached! Here is a picture of him in my daughter's hand. I'll be posting a video of him later! Again, thanks to everyone who is following this story and sending Stuart happy thoughts.

  3. It's neat how we can see him (her?) growing and changing in just the few days you've had him. Good job!

  4. I HAVE that EXACT jewelry box from when I was a little girl. I got it out of the closet a couple of weeks ago and I'm looking at it now. What a coincidence!

I so admire you for adopting Stuart. I'm petrified of rats and mice, personally, but this little guy is so helpless and tiny that he could probably change my mind about all of that.

  11. Oh wow! I just finishing scrolling down to read all about the origins of Stuart. How amazing that your daughter saw this little fellow and that he had the good fortune to be adopted by a wonderful family like yours! :)

He's so small! Maybe a baby mouse?

That's a beautiful print! I had a very similar jewelry box when I was little :)

Got you added to my sidebar today so I will remember to visit often. Your blog is just wonderful! I'm loving reading it :)

  12. Can't help thinking there's something very serendipitous about how this little guy (gal) came into your life and -- via your blog -- into ours. A message or lesson of some sort for all of us maybe?

  14. I couldn't stand the waiting, so I did some poking around online for pictures of baby rats and baby squirrels. Looks like Stuart is a baby rat. :)

Looking forward to seeing the video when you post it!
